The tree you select will be planted for you by professional City-of-Charlotte-approved landscapers in a site of your choosing at your home.
The DCA's Tree Canopy Committee is helping restore our neighborhood's tree canopy by making it easy for residents to add new trees to their yards. The trees we source are significantly larger than what you'll find at retail stores—typically 2"-3" diameter trunks that are 3-7 years old, compared to the 1-2 year old saplings at places like Lowe's. Your purchase includes sourcing, delivery, professional planting, and a $50 contribution to our Street Tree fundraiser. Order by December 15, 2025.

Nuttall Oak
Red fall color. Narrow, open, rounded canopy. Stately tree with drought tolerance once established. Mature height 60’-80’, mature width 35’-50’.
Pin Oak
Deep red fall color. Broad pyramidal crown, produces acorns at age 15-20. Mature height 50’-70’, mature width 25’-45’.
Bicolor Oak
(AKA Swamp White Oak) Rounded top and open crown. Attractive bark. Mature height 50’-60’, mature width 50’-60’.
Autumn Blaze Maple
Bright red fall color. Drought tolerance once established. Hybrid of Red and Silver Maple. Mature height 40’-50’, mature width 30’-40’.
October Glory Maple
Bright red/orange fall color. Oval to rounded crown. Fast grower with strong wood. Mature height 40’-50’, mature width 30’-40’.
Brandywine Maple
Red-purple fall color. Oval crown. Tolerant of urban conditions and varying soil types. Mature height 35’-50’, mature width 25’-40’.
Frontier Elm
Pyramidal form. Dutch Elm disease resistant. Good for residential or urban uses. Mature height 30’-40’, mature width 20’-30’.
Princeton Elm
Vase form with an overhead arch. Dutch Elm disease resistant. Fast growth and adverse tolerance. Mature height 60’-80’, mature width 30’-50’.
Shademaster Locust
Delicate fern-like foliage that casts dappled shade. Hardy. Does not produce fruit or flowers. Mature height 50’-70’, mature width 30’-50’.
Skyline Locust
Golden fall color. Open branched pyramidal shape. Fast growing. Thornless, virtually seedless. Mature height 40’-45’, mature width 30’-35’.

Magnolia 'Jane'
Tulip shaped larger reddish purple spring blossoms. Late bloomer to avoid the frost. Shrubby form when young. Mature height 20’-25’, mature width 15’-20’.
'Moonglow' Virginiana Magnolia
Large fragrant white flowers in summer, showy red seed pods in fall. Semi-evergreen. Usually multi-stemmed. Mature height 15’-35’, mature width 10’-20’.
