Example One
"Vote NO.
The Charlotte Housing Authority should not be above the law. This 17-acre site is a huge part of Dilworth. Please follow the city's zoning ordinance as you consider this petition.
TOD zoning allows for very generous development rights. CHA has absolutely no reason to receive more than what is allowed.
The TOD zoning ordinance was just amended in 2009 to address its insensitivity to residential neighborhoods near the transit line - including Dilworth. LET THE ORDINANCE DO ITS JOB."
Example Two
Please vote NO.
I am very concerned about two things with the CHA rezoning of their 17-acre site.
One, CHA has nothing in this plan to re-house all the outlying residents on this property. Dilworth is VERY supportive of continuing our long-standing commitment to affordable housing and sees nothing in this aggressive rezoning that accomplishes this.
Two, this rezoning request clearly breaks the rules. The heights exceed even the maximums allowed by zoning. If you can't hold CHA to the ordinance requirements, why would any future developers have to be held to them either?'
Example Three
Vote NO.
Please exercise due diligence in your review of this CHA rezoning petition.
Dilworth understands and embraces transit development, but the development rights in this petition are simply way over the top. The density and height that CHA is requesting will allow for a mega-sized project that shouldn't be immediately adjacent to a historic neighborhood."
