More Good Info on Editing Articles for DilworthOnline
Sizing Photos
Sizing photos really ought to be done before you upload them. You cannot size a photo after uploading to your article. DilworthOnline can change how big a picture looks on the page, but the picture is still the original size as stored on the server - and that same size that a person downloads if they want to copy from DilworthOnline.
There is plenty of free software for that resizing and simple image manipulation. For simple (and blazingly fast) photo viewing, cropping, rotating, resizing, etc. I really like FastStone (http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm). If you need to edit or do work from scratch, the top of the line free program is "The GNU Image Manipulation Program" or "The GIMP" http://www.gimp.org/ (it was around long before Pulp Fiction). It has a much steeper learning curve, but almost no limits to what it can do - and for a great price. Again actual resizing is not really necessary to simply make the picture fit the webpage, but it would be better.
How to Insert & Size Image or Photo using DilworthOnline (Joomla)
If the image is anything close to the desired size (which is likely significantly smaller than full size) you can easily use the Joomla sizing tool to fine tune the size on any given page. Just try to get the image close to the size you want it to be, erring on the side of making it larger. 640x480 is probably the largest size you should upload for any image to be included in an article.
If you're linking to an image for someone to download, you might want to upload the full sized image. Inserting an image is similar to inserting a link to an image. The biggest difference is that you click in the "Image" button below the article text entry space instead of the "Linkr" button. It really depends on what you mean by “attach”.
To put a hyperlink in an article to a file that you want someone to download (that is they wont see the picture, just the text linking to the picture), follow these instructions:
When creating new articles or editing existing articles, just below the text entry area there is a button for Linkr:

Linkr gives you the option to link to or include many different things inside of an article. To include a new image select Files:

Make sure you navigate to the directory where you want your image to be stored (someplace that makes sense - where would be the first place [on the server] that you look for this file a year from now). It should be under "media" (click that folder), then "images", then the section that makes the most sense (About, Services, LandUse, etc).
