The Dilworth Quarterly

The Dilworth Quarterly is a neighborhood newsletter published four times a year by the Dilworth Community Development Association for the residents and businesses of the Dilworth Community. To read the current issue, click here.

The Quarterly has been the primary means of communication within the community for over twenty years. The oldest issue we have been able to locate is dated August, 1985, and features the upcoming "Dilworth Jubilee and Home Tour." That early issue consisted of only six pages. By contrast, the August, 2006 issue, also promoting the upcoming Dilworth Jubilee and Home Tour, included fifty-six pages.

The exact page count and circulation varies, but we currently mail out close to 6,000 copies per issue. Every Dilworth resident and business should receive a copy at no charge. If you are not currently receiving a copy, or if you are receiving more than one copy, send a note to Dilworth Quarterly Editor, PO Box 36023, Charlotte, NC 28236, or send an e-mail to dilworthquarterly@att.net. We try to provide copies to most businesses, but many addresses have multiple suite numbers, all of which we may not have in our database.

With a dedicated, all-volunteer staff, the Quarterly is now almost self-sufficient financially. When advertising does not completely cover the costs of production and mailing, the shortfall is made up from DCDA Home Tour income. The Quarterly prefers to give preference to advertisers with a physical presence in Dilworth.

Submitting Items for the Quarterly

The editorial content of the Quarterly comes entirely from those in the community. It consists of practically anything of interest to the neighborhood including sports, schools, parks & recreation, news of churches and organizations, individual neighbors and businesses, and land use and zoning issues. You are cordially invited and urged to submit any items of interest to the neighborhood. The Quarterly would not exist if it weren't for the broad participation from the community. You are our eyes and ears. If you have any questions about what to submit or how including word count, data format, etc. contact the Editor (see contact info above).

Advertising in the Quarterly

If you would like to advertise in the Quarterly, read the information found in the Rate Sheet and then fill out and submit an Insertion Order. The Rate Sheet includes information about demographics, ad rates, deadlines & publication dates, and design specifications. While advertising is vital to the Quarterly, the staff reserves the right to refuse advertising or editorial content that it deems inapporpriate or which would create an imbalance between editorial and ad content.
